Economic Development

Financial Fortitude

National economic trends, such as unstable employment, the threat to Social Security as we know it, and the widening gape between wealth and poverty are the basis for the development of Financial Fortitude, the current Economic Development program initiative of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Financial Fortitude is a process that will help program participants to set and define goals, develop a plan to achieve them, and to put the plan into action. The process serves as a blueprint to address all aspects of personal finances.

Adopt a Highway

This a local litter prevention program that works to involve the community in local roadside clean up efforts. In an effort to raise the economic status of our neighborhoods, HSMC participates in the adopt-a-highway program. Each month, chapter members can be seen on Highway 78 collecting trash on the roadway. Refer to our events calendar for more information.

Relay for Life

In an effort to raise awareness regarding cancer, we've decided to make a difference by raising money and walking in the local American Cancer Society Relay For Life. This is an all night event, where work as a team walking around the track to raise money and awareness all benefitting the American Cancer Society in their efforts to end cancer.
